Another video from Damage Control MMA Academy with Mark Schultz an Olympic gold medalist wrestler and UFC veteran, I can recommend Mark Schultz DVD’s the last he made is full of amazing stuff, wrestling for street combat is how I would describe it, simple stuff as smashing the opponents head on concrete and more advanced material, he describes some concepts so its not only a collection of techniques.

Kali Training

Aries Reyes from the US, a practitioner of the Bahala Na Martial Arts Association.

More Basic Cranes.

Traditional White Crane Kung Fu, just like most TCMA, is based on the 5 classic fundamentals.

"Strong, fierce, tight , stable and small "

Fuzhou Crane places strong emphasis on tight, stable and small which could be explained as cohesive stable moves executed in a continuous flow without break. All directions of force must be synchronized.

During the early phase of Fuzhou White Crane training, "tight" hand drills are done repeatedly until each student achieves a smooth flow.......

"Body and hands move as one".

Thieves and liars, exposed for their failed attempt to steal the AMOK! brand and lie about its heritage.

Adding to the public shame of their failed attempt to steal the AMOK! name and brand, students of the founders of Mommy’s Little Worriers continue spreading propaganda claiming that they are co-founders of AMOK! when it is a provable fact they didn’t come on board until a full SIX years after Tom Sotis founded it in 1992.

If this were true, why don’t the founders of Mommy’s Little Worriers publicly claim this themselves? Because they know it is just another big lie and so they use their loyal people to eat that shit sandwich for them.

These students do not yet realize know how foolish this makes them look and they should get used to that taste if they’re going to take their direction from under a skirt.

Of course, founders who believe in themselves would stand on their own merit and every time Mommy’s Little Warriors or their students mention their past connection to AMOK! they further reinforce to everyone that they need to stand on AMOK!’s shoulders to validate themselves.

If you want to know for sure – ask the founders of Mommy’s Little Worriers on their Facebook page to publicly declare what year they joined AMOK! and let's see what answer they give.

Is It a Pistol? Is It a Carbine? It’s the CAA RONI

If your trusty GLOCK or SIG ever aspired to be something more, perhaps jealous of the 1970s-vintage Beretta Model 93R machine pistol, now there’s an option to put your pistol on steroids. While CAA advertises it as an “assault rifle” conversion, “carbine” is probably a more accurate characterization...

Equilibrium: Final fights HD

Besides being one of my favourite sci-fi movies, with a very innovative idea with the gun katas, compared to videos from any systems that are not fiction, there are 3 very important rules. The action fight choreography in this movie is heavily influenced by FMA hubud, a bit of Japanese styles, Wing Chun chi sao and pure theatrics.

1 Never do any sweeping on any of your own body parts, do NOT let the gun come in between your body parts and the opponent. Why not should be a no brainer, if you can’t figure it out don’t buy a gun.

2 Don’t point your gun at anything you don’t want to injure or kill. I have seen videos with combative instructors during the exercise with live ammo pointing their gun at their buddy, while transitioning to another task.

3 Titles are not a guarantee of quality in every field, like a mechanic he can fix your car but can’t even make a sandwich. I have duelled against various great grand masters, grand masters and masters and have not lost to any of them, to my surprise it was very easy. The reason why is simple I spar with all my students, I don’t care what rank anyone has and don’t hold back when I attack, many instructors are attacked worse than a girl fight due to the fear and respect as an authority figure by their students.

On the battlefield, the fate of the injured often rests in the hands of the first responder. The importance of knowing what to do, how to do it, and when to do it cannot be overstated. In Volume 5 of the Crucible All-Access Training series, Crucible's John Duncan teaches the basic guidelines, methods, and principles of tactical combat casualty care.

Using battle-tested training methods and state-of-the-art equipment, Duncan's instruction includes packing wounds, treating sucking chest wounds, clearing airways, and applying tourniquets properly. This video demonstrates the best possible combination of good medicine and good tactics. Combat casualty care is critical not only for the survival of the wounded, but also the survival of the other team members and the overall success of the mission. Ernestine Shepherd: The 75-year-old bodybuilding grandma

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-18346128

The world's oldest female bodybuilder wakes up every day at 02:30 to fit in a 10 mile (16km) run before hitting the gym.
But 75-year-old Ernestine Shepherd insists that "age is nothing but a number".
"Miss Ernie", as she is known in the world of competitive bodybuilding, began training at the tender age of 71.
She says her true calling in life, however, is helping others to follow a more healthy lifestyle.
The BBC caught up with her at an exercise class at her church in the US city of Baltimore, Maryland, to find out why she started bodybuilding.

MMA Striking to Takedown

Years ago a great man wanted to see what was possible if the restrictions of classical system and tradition were replaced by the philosophy of “no way as way, no limitation as the only limitation”
That man was Bruce Lee and the sporting permutation of his vision is what we know today as MMA. At the technical level, Bruce Lee’s art is known for its ability to seamlessly transition from one art or range to another. Something that MMA professionals are only now just beginning to realize and incorporate.
One of our favorite nods to the JKD tradition is the use of the shuffle step kick entry. In the members area of our website we elaborate further on the variations and possibilities we like to use but here you can see how we’ve applied the basic concept to the realm of MMA.
The key for using this entry is to consistently mix your dedicated striking attacks using the shuffle kick entry with your compound takedown attacks. Again something we cover at length for our members.
Until next time, “Take what is useful, discard what is useless and add what is essentially your own”. Leave a comment and let us know what you’ve found useful.

What Is Catch Wrestling?

Once again the fine folks over at Inside MMA used one of my questions. I initially thought the question may be a bit dumb as you can easily just wiki it, but Josh was more than willing to explain to us, in his own words, what the sport of catch wrestling entails. It's a crying shame it's not offered as widely as any of the other major martial arts.

And Josh was wearing a Nile shirt. Fuckin badass. \m/

Authentic Pekiti-Tirsia Knife System Instructional DVD

I and others have experienced to loose the knife more often than usual with that grip, no wonder due to the grip is dependent on closing the hand before contact, but with a short blade the speed is so high that the eyes cant track the blade, if I could choose how my opponents should be easy to disarm I would prefer this grip, any hard contact will make the knife fly of your hand, even if its only forearm to palm or wrist contact. There is a specific time when this grip can be used, but better focus to have the grip with less tendency to disarm yourself by accident.

I refuse to let age be a hindrance to my commitment to be fit enough to survive an assault when I am old, beside the fact that training is good for your body and mind, feeling confident to have enough strength to be able to execute techniques is my goal to the day I die from old age, no street punk or gang banger will ever get the possibility to assault me without severe bodily damage as punishment, even if I am 60 or 70 year old.

What the Shoulders Say About Us The most ignored area of our body communicates elegantly if we will but observe.

From:
http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/spycatcher/201205/what-the-shoulders-say-about-us

This part of the article is the most valuable information for those who are interested in self-defence.

“The shoulders communicate vitality but they can also communicate dominance and hierarchy. Over my career I have interviewed a lot of criminals and I always made it a point to ask how they assessed their victims before they acted out. Over and over three things stood out, how their victims looked (frail, weak, not athletic), their overall situational awareness (never go after someone who sees you first), and their arm swing (vigorous arm movement or passive subdued). And so to a criminal, our own intra-species predators, as Robert Hare would call them, how the shoulders look is a key factor for those who seek to prey on us. As one psychopath said to me, and this was very telling, “silverbacks don’t go after silverbacks, they go after everything else.” Good point.”
